Here is a brief summary of my story!
For those who may not know, I was adopted from China on August 20, 1994, and have lived in the United States since then.
I grew up in a very loving, Christian family since I was 11 months old. I have a sister who is 3 years younger than me who is adopted from Vietnam, and she completed our family in August 1997. I grew up in the church, and I was baptized on April 7, 2001.
But being adopted can bring many burdens and hardships, including depression, anxiety, identity issues, feeling of abandonment, feeling unworthy, and can even cause suicidal thoughts and tendencies. And as I grew up, those feelings grew stronger and turned to questioning and doubt towards God as I just wanted to find the answer to the one question: “Who am I?”.
Through the posts about my story, I hope that you find encouragement, hope, and the great reminder and knowledge that you are loved and adored by the King.
